Achieve more with LiDAR
LiDAR is a relatively new method of detection for the security industry. LiDAR detection makes it possible to create a detailed 3D representation of an environment, independent of weather and light conditions. High-frequency scanning creates a real-time live view.
Then, similar to Video Content Analysis, the 3D data is analysed for detecting, identifying, and tracking objects. Information processed by a LiDAR sensor can not be used to identify a person, the data consists of information related to sensed distance and position.

3D information from the LiDAR sensor(s) is analyzed to distinguish between the environment and objects. This makes it possible to accurately and reliably identify and track objects such as people or vehicles. Even during a storm, with wildly moving vegetation in the detection area, accurate detection is possible.
Integration with the VMS
The integration of LiDAR detection within a video management system makes it possible to gain immediate insight in the event of a threat. This offers a significant upgrade in terms of applicability and reliability. For example, it is possible to get coordinates from the LiDAR system, where the VMS immediately shows the correct cameras for visual verification.
