Certain risks almost naturally call for bulletproof walls. Consider police stations, embassies, military complexes, cash centers. It makes sense to make the exterior walls and facades bulletproof. However, there are also situations where interior walls require bulletproofing, such as in vaults, safes, and panic rooms. What are the possibilities for bulletproof walls and how does this relate to the resilience of the total shell of a space? Our specialists are uniquely capable of providing an integrated overview of your risks and (OBE) measures. Combinations of bulletproofing, explosion protection, burglary protection, and fire protection are also possible. We are happy to provide you with suitable advice.
All about Bulletproof Walls
There are various ways to make a wall bulletproof. For example, a steel structure can be used in a wall, but there are also bulletproof plasterboards and walls with a filling of ballistic ceramic pellets or composite material. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. The application dictates the choice of method. This is closely related to the desired resistance class (based on your predictable risks), as well as the thickness and weight of the walls. Especially in a situation of existing construction that needs to be equipped with bulletproofing, careful consideration must be given to the technical implications. We are happy to advise you!
Bulletproof Walls for Residential Houses
Mactwin specializes in securing organizations with a medium to high-risk profile and, in principle, we do not secure private individuals. An exception is the private environment of a CEO, as an extension of an organization. This includes the home, but also vehicles and, for example, vacation homes.

Standardization of Bulletproof Walls
Standards have been established for bulletproof walls. As a basis, we use the European standard EN 1522-1523. However, a standardized product says nothing about the quality of your total protection. We ensure that all measures are built in balance and coherence with each other, so you can always provide the resistance and delay that is important for your organization. Want to know how we go further where the standardization stops? Feel free to contact us!
Resistance Class of Bulletproof Walls
For defining resistance classes of bulletproof walls, several factors are important; consider the type of ammunition, the weapon, the firing speed, the number of shots, and the distance from which shots are fired. The EN 1522-1523 includes classes such as FB1-FB7, SG1-2 and AK47. According to the standard, these resistance classes are tested with a mechanical firing mechanism, temperature measurement, shooting in a triangle with a certain impact distance, and a speed meter. These tests are conducted on bulletproof walls, windows , and doors . Attention is also paid to the connection of the different elements.
Depending on your risk profile, we choose together with you the resistance class that your situation requires and that fits your ambition.
