Today, President Klaas Knot of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) opened the new Cash Centre in Zeist. The DNB Cash Centre is an example of innovation and state-of-the-art technology and is sustainably integrated into the surrounding nature. Part of the Dutch gold stock is stored in the Cash Centre, and this is also the centre of the money sorting and issuing function of the Dutch Central Bank.

DNB’s Cash Centre is located on the Camp New Amsterdam defence site in the municipality of Zeist. The construction of the DNB Cash Centre started in mid-2019. In 2019, DNB’s Executive Board decided to renovate DNB’s head office and move the gold and money to the new, high-security DNB Cash Centre in Huis ter Heide, near Zeist. The Cash Centre will be easily accessible for cash transports to and from DNB and the renovated office in Amsterdam will be accessible to the public.
