The Jagger Casino was recently opened in Spijkenisse.
The first (and only) casino in this place is located in a new building right next to Theater de Stoep.
Mactwin was responsible for the total security of this entertainment company.
The Jagger Casino is the third casino of the Funplaza group.
While the other two casinos still operate under the name Funplaza, the newest location has been given a new name and corporate identity.
Alex Haantjens, director of Funplaza Beheer BV: “Our two existing casinos and the soon-to-be-opened location in Winschoten will also be given this name, which refers to the famous English roulette player Joseph Jagger.”
Haantjens: “With the new name and corporate identity, we want to distinguish ourselves from the other players in the market. We have also tried to be distinctive in terms of atmosphere and interior; With warm colours, beautiful lighting and good (handmade) chairs, for example.”
The casino exudes luxury and tranquillity.
What is also striking is that visitors no longer throw cash into the machines, but use a chip card.
Haantjens: “We mainly play cashless. Players use a Magic Pay card on which they can load money. When they leave, they can have the amount of money on the card paid out in cash.”
Where money is played, there are certain risks.
Haantjens: “In order to limit these risks as much as possible, we have engaged a professional party for security.
Together with Mactwin, we started to properly map out the risks and risk areas of the new location in a
Security Octagon, after which Mactwin made the total security plan.” The measures implemented by Mactwin are mainly aimed at restricting access to the casino outside of opening hours, preventing robberies and promoting fair play. In addition, the building is equipped with a reliable fire alarm and evacuation alarm system.”
Cameras have a preventive effect and support processes
The Jagger casino is equipped with 70 security cameras, which not only work preventively, but are also used to support daily operations. For example, the cameras in the casino’s gaming areas are focused on the slot machines. “In this way, we avoid discussions about the profit amounts to be paid out. The cameras hung for this purpose provide a detailed view of the slot machines. If a customer now questions the number of points to be paid, we immediately retrieve the corresponding camera images. Together with the data from the available Management Information System, we then have sufficient evidence to resolve the discussion,” Haantjens explains to us. Other cameras provide overview images of the public areas or record cash transactions at the cash register, ATM, cash-card terminal and in the money counting area.” All 70 cameras are managed with Cemacs
Video Management software.
This makes it easy to manage and watch the (live and recorded) video images.
Camera images can also be viewed on a mobile device via an app.
Strict access control measures and procedures
Haantjens: “In order to limit access to the building and certain areas within it and to guarantee the safety of our staff, we also have Access Control Measures affected. Thanks to the four-eyes principle, the use of both access cards and biometric recognition and the conditional access rules that we have established for different groups of people, we have achieved a high level of security. We have also drawn up strict procedures for closing the building. For example, we train employees to check whether everything is safe in and around the building before departure. To this end, procedures have been drawn up and some additional measures have been taken, such as a verification monitor near the exit on which the images from the outdoor cameras are shown.”
Remote management increases system availability
The Jagger’s security systems are connected to the Mactwin Operation Center (MOC).
Haantjens: “We think it’s important that Mactwin offers the possibility to continuously monitor our systems remotely for their proper functioning. Especially in a high-secure environment like ours. For example, Mactwin now sees in the MOC before we do that a system component is no longer functioning properly. They then take immediate action, usually remotely, to solve the problem. This ensures maximum system availability.”
End-to-end security solution
Alex Haantjens made a conscious choice for Mactwin.
“In the preliminary phase, Mactwin spent a lot of time understanding our processes and risks. This resulted in a good security plan and Mactwin has selected security solutions that match our (high) risks in terms of security level. What triggered me most was the professional way in which they provided an integrated security solution in which all security systems work together. This provides us with a lot of ease of use and functional information. It was also very nice that Mactwin took care of the total security: all safety and security installations, the walkie-talkie system for internal communication, electric locks, the structural facilities (shutters) and the hinges and locks. We only had one point of contact. It is therefore not for nothing that we have also asked Mactwin to take care of the security of our next location in Winschoten in the near future.”
