Knowledge is power. Ethical hackers and security specialists recently shared their knowledge and experiences, learning how they can jointly combat cyber crime even more effectively. Representatives from KPMG Cyber, manufacturer Nedap Security Management, and system integrator Mactwin Security were at the table.
During the remarkably open roundtable discussion, the attending IT Security auditors provided insights to the other attendees on how an ethical hacker searches for vulnerabilities in systems, particularly in physical security systems. Nedap and Mactwin Security, in turn, provided insights into the structure of security systems, their integration within client networks, and software architecture. This unique combination of knowledge and expertise provided participants with even greater insight into how to prevent and combat cybercrime.
The discussion once again highlighted the necessity of collaboration among system integrators, ICT departments, and even suppliers/manufacturers in preventing and combating cybercrime. Although the interests of the parties sometimes differed, the meeting fostered significant mutual insight and understanding of each other’s fields, capabilities, and vulnerabilities.
