The channels for incidents in PTT (Push-to-talk) are one of the three categories in the PTT VoIP module of the Channels application:
- The “Groups channels” category allows users in each group to communicate with all other users in the group. In this category, groups are primarily static and only change when a user is added to or removed from the group.
- The “Chat channels” category allows users to create and modify their own personal groups, whether one-on-one or with multiple users.
- In the “Incidents channels” category (subject of this article), channels are continuously created and adjusted according to real-time dynamic developments of the incidents.
The incident PTT channels are automatically provisioned when a participant in the incident (dispatcher, supervisor, or respondent) clicks the PTT button. Users are automatically added to or removed from this designated channel when they join or leave the incident. This dynamic channel remains available as long as the incident remains open and there are active respondents in the incident.
