Rademaker: high level of security and high secure access control<\/h2>\n

Rademaker, manufacturer of industrial bakery machines for bread and dough production, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
\nIn those 40 years, the company has grown considerably and taken security to the next level.
\nMactwin has been Rademaker’s permanent security partner for almost 20 years. <\/strong> The production lines produced by Rademaker go to large industrial bakeries all over the world.
\nThere are machines for baking breads and puff pastry products.
\nWith advanced software, the machines can be set up very precisely.
\n“With the right dough thickness and desired product shape, for example,” says Ruud van Jaarsveld \u2013 maintenance coordinator at Rademaker.
\nThe production of the machines takes place in Culemborg and in the factory in Slovakia.
\n“Business is going well. We have experienced considerable growth in recent years and now supply about 80 production lines per year, 95% of which go to foreign customers.”<\/p>\n

Stolen laptops<\/h3>\n

Rademaker no longer fits in the original building. Today, the company has six buildings on the same street and a large parking lot. Security has been taken to a higher level in those years. Account manager Erik Poulussen of Mactwin, has been involved with Rademaker from the start. “Initially, we came to Rademaker because laptops were regularly stolen at the end of the last century. That was the reason to come up with a new security concept, appropriate to the risks of the time.” Ruud van Jaarsveld: “At that time, our doors were wide open. We had a lot of external people who could go in almost anywhere. With the security we put in place at the time, access to the building was restricted in particular.”<\/p>\n<\/div>

Higher level of security<\/h3>\n

We are now almost 20 years later.
\nThe company has expanded considerably.
\nThe acquisition of a number of existing buildings, including the security systems that were already present there, has led to a proliferation of systems and passes\/tags.
\nIn addition, new risks have been defined and a higher level of security is required.
\nRuud van Jaarsveld: “For example, we invest a lot in the development of new concepts and machines.
\nWe want to protect information about these innovations.
\nTogether with Mactwin, we have developed a new security policy, especially with regard to accessibility.
\nOffices and production are now completely separated.
\nIf you don’t have anything to do with production, you can’t go in there either.
\nThe same goes for the R&D department.
\nFurthermore, we will work with one ‘key’.
\nSoon everyone will have only one card or tag<\/a> to which personal access rights have been assigned. This is more pleasant for everyone and also more manageable. In the short term, we will also be using the passes and tags for access to our new car park and for the multifunctionals. In the slightly longer term, we also want to do the time registration for the project administration with the passes and tags.”<\/p>\n

High secure access control<\/h3>\n

In order to achieve the desired higher level of security, Rademaker has switched to card readers and cards\/tags with the latest and most secure reading technology: Mifare Desfire EV2.
\n“Until recently, Rademaker was still using a system with the outdated Proximity protocol,” says Erik Poulussen.
\n“Just like the Mifare Classic, this protocol can be copied much more easily than people often think. With a device costing less than \u20ac 40.00, a map\/tag can be read and copied within a reasonable distance. This outdated protocol no longer fit within the new security policy as we have now formulated it for Rademaker. Mifare Desfire EV2 with AES encryption \u2013 which is also used in the electronic passport \u2013 works according to the principle that both the card readers and the cards\/tags are provided with a customer-specific key. Only card readers with this key can read the passcode. This makes it much more difficult to duplicate a pass\/tag.”<\/p>\n

Future<\/h3>\n

Ruud van Jaarsveld: “We are currently in a busy period of changes, renovations and relocations. With the choice of the new access control system, based on a new security policy, I am confident that we will face the future safely.”<\/p>\n<\/div>
