When it Comes to Fire Safety, there is Extensive Legislation and many Regulations. These Vary from Object to Object. For Example, an Office Must Meet Different Requirements than a Healthcare Facility. This is Related to the Functional Use of an Object and the Associated Fire Safety Risk. Depending on the functional use and risk, there is more or less legislation regarding the fire safety of a structure.<\/h4>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Building Decree 2012<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The Building Decree 2012 extensively describes the fire safety requirements an object must meet. The Building Decree includes regulations regarding (technical) installations, such as fire alarm and evacuation systems, and the use of buildings and premises. But requirements are also set for, for example, the compartmentalization and strength of a building and the presence of escape routes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>NEN 2535 and NEN 2654-1 for Fire Alarm Systems<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The NEN 2535 provides rules for the design, implementation, compatibility, and quality of the fire alarm system to be installed. To keep a fire alarm system in good condition, proper maintenance and management are essential. The NEN 2654-1 sets requirements for how management and maintenance of a fire alarm system should be carried out.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>NEN 2575 and NEN 2654-2 for Evacuation Alarm Systems<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

When the Building Decree 2012 requires a fire alarm system for the use of a building, an evacuation system that complies with NEN 2575 is also mandatory. The standard provides requirements for the design, implementation, compatibility, and quality of evacuation alarm systems intended to evacuate a building quickly and orderly in case of fire or other emergency. NEN 2654-2 describes how the manager of an evacuation alarm system should ensure proper management and maintenance of the system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Training for Fire Alarm and Evacuation System Manager<\/h3><\/h2><\/div>

The fire safety legislation stipulates, among other things, that organizations with a certified fire alarm and evacuation system are required to appoint one or more managers for the fire alarm and evacuation alarm system. They are Responsible for Daily Management and Maintaining the Systems in Nominal Condition. The manager is also the contact person for the fire department and the maintenance company and performs periodic checks and minor maintenance.<\/h4>\n<\/div>

The Training<\/h3>\n

During the training, (future) managers learn about their tasks and responsibilities and gain insight into the functioning of the systems. Topics covered include: applicable standards, structure and operation of the systems, detector types and monitoring forms, maintaining logbooks, testing and checking the systems. At the end of the training, a test is administered. Participants receive a Certificate of Participation<\/p>\n<\/div>
